Week 3 in Review: Fighting disinformation and knocking on doors till your knuckles hurt

From democracy forums to door-knocking marathons, from bold policy talks to joyful volunteer videos, this campaign is powered by care, courage, and community. We’re not just fighting to win an election—we’re building a movement where truth matters, no one is left behind, and politics feels human again.

🗳️ Democracy Talks: The Battle for Truth

Fascism is rising. Conspiracies are mainstream. The far right is organizing.

On Sunday, we hosted a powerful community forum on how we fight back—with facts, courage, and deep care for one another at the Creekside Community Centre in Olympic Village.

I was joined by researcher Mariel Cooksey and author James Hoggan for a raw and urgent conversation about reclaiming truth in the age of lies.

Space is limited so RSVP now if you plan to attend.

💬 Naomi’s Message: Love, Repair, and the Work Ahead

I got choked up this week watching this clip of my amazing wife Naomi speaking at our Office Opening party.

Apart from being incredibly embarrassed (which I think was the goal of the video) it’s a reminder for me that this work involves all of us: our chosen family, our political family, all our loved ones.

I’m the luckiest guy on earth to have Naomi Klein in my corner.

🎥 Cory Doctorow on Jailbreaking Teslas to Fight Trump

Canada can fight back against Trump’s tariffs—by hitting tech billionaires where it hurts.

Cory has a great idea, let Canadian mechanics jailbreak Teslas. Target Elon. Revoke bill C-11 that limits our ability to break imaginary "digital locks" which protects billionaires instead of Canadians.

🚪 Knocking on Doors Until My Knuckles Hurt

Some of our amazing volunteers just released a video that captures the spirit of this campaign better than I ever could.

It’s joyful, scrappy, and focused on what matters most building community, one door at a time.

We’ve already knocked on over 35,000 doors in Vancouver Centre and that is just the beginning.

We are doing it because on those doorsteps, we hear the raw truth: rents are impossible, groceries are brutal, and trust in politicians is hanging by a thread.

But we also hear courage. Big ideas. We meet people who are ready to believe again—if someone is willing to fight for them.

That’s what we’re building. I highly recommend getting involved. It's an inspiring experience.

🔥 The Care Economy Is the Future

What if we built an economy around care instead of extraction?

It’s the opposite of seeing everything as a commodity - care work, for young and old, in health, education and all the ways we support each other - should be the most valued sector of our economy, instead of being the most underpaid and exploitative.

The best part of this talk was that right after it ended so many people grabbed clipboards and joined us knocking on doors until our knuckles were sore.

🧡 Final Push: Power What We’re Building Together

We’re up against serious forces—corporate wealth, disinformation, rising authoritarianism.

But I still believe—with everything I’ve got—that organized people can beat organized money.

This campaign isn’t powered by lobbyists or insiders. It’s powered by moments of courage. Conversations on doorsteps. Videos that cut through the noise. Community gatherings that remind us we’re not alone.

All of it takes people power. And right now, we need your help to energize the campaign in the final stretch.

If you’ve been thinking about donating—this is the time. Not just to help me win. But to help us build something lasting, together.

With gratitude, urgency, and relentless hope,
